How to Take Care of Your Eyeglasses
We know how much you care about your eyeglasses—and rightly so. They help you see clearly every day. Proper maintenance and cleaning can keep your glasses looking crystal clear while extending their lifespan.
Always Keep a Case
Every pair of eyeglasses should come with a protective case. Storing your glasses inside a case prevents scratches, dust accumulation, and accidental damage while carrying them in a pocket, bag, or placing them on a table.
Clean Them Properly
Research from the American Optometric Association suggests cleaning your glasses daily to keep them hygienic and effective. Use warm water and mild soap carefully, along with a soft cleaning cloth. Pay special attention to the nose pads and temple arms where dust commonly collects.
Use Microfiber Cloth Only
Always clean your lenses with the microfiber cloth provided with your eyeglasses. Avoid using shirts, tissues, or other fabrics, as they may carry dust particles and can scratch the lens surface.
Take Care When Not Wearing Them
Leaving your eyeglasses on counters, tables, or nightstands can expose them to dust, dirt, and airborne pollutants. Store them safely in their case whenever they are not in use, especially while sleeping or showering. Keep them away from perfume, hairspray, and other aerosol sprays, as these products may damage the protective coatings on your lenses.
